The New American Idol

Reality shows have come a long way from when they first began. I remember the Real World when it first came out over fifteen years ago. My favorite show is American Idol, because it's a competition with real talent.

I've been watching this year and I like the dynamic between the new judges. I think they get along better than the old judges did. Randy has been there from the beginning, but it seems as though he is working more easily with Jennifer and Steven.

Group round has always bugged me; it seems unfair when contestants are unable to find a group to sing with. It happened again this year and then a young kid was kicked out of the group he had been practicing most of the night with. I don't think I'll be voting for that D.J. contestant who kicked him out. I need to like the competitors that I'm rooting for.

I'm curious to see the constructive criticism that the new judges can provide. I think it was good for the show that both Paula and Simon left, the show needed new blood. Steven Tyler has been interesting and a little meaner than I thought he'd be.

I watch American Idol on satellite TV from http://www.direc4u.com/in/s/schererville/ and set the program on continuous record. With this option I don't have to worry about missing the show.
